My name is Kaitlin Millender, and art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. After studying art in high school and being accepted into the Savannah College of Art & Design, my path unexpectedly led me into science, where I earned degrees in Marine Biology and Environmental Science and spent nearly a decade studying the natural world. Throughout it all, I continued creating because art gave me a place to slow down, explore, and reconnect with myself. In 2019, I began teaching painting, and I quickly discovered that sharing creativity with others was where I truly belonged.

I created Art Mill Collective because I believe everyone is creative. Over the years, I've watched people walk into my classes convinced they aren't "artistic," only to leave surprised by what they were capable of creating. My goal is to make art feel approachable, joyful, and freeing rather than intimidating or focused on perfection. Through my classes and creative experiences, I encourage people to experiment, trust their instincts, let go of the fear of making mistakes, and rediscover the simple joy of creating.

Inspired by nature, travel, color, and the world around me, I bring curiosity and exploration into everything I create and teach. Art Mill Collective is about more than making a painting, it's about giving yourself permission to play, express yourself, try something new, and walk away feeling a little more confident and a little more free.
